About the Game
About DuelForge
DuelForge is an anime-style RPG card game that combines strategic deck building, character progression, competitive battles, and a story-driven adventure.
The game draws inspiration from trading card games and RPGs such as Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon, HEX: Shards of Fate, Hearthstone, and Slay the Spire. DuelForge builds on ideas found across these genres while introducing its own world, characters, systems, and approach to card-based combat.
Reactive Battles
Respond during opposing turns with Spells, Traps, and other reactive effects that can interrupt actions or change the course of battle.
Flexible Deck Building
Combine cards from different elemental factions to create focused decks, unusual combinations, and strategies centered on a Hero.
Hero Progression
Develop Heroes through skills, equipment, dungeon exploration, gathered materials, and progression systems that expand future deck builds.
Battles That Keep Both Players Involved
In DuelForge, players are not limited to watching while their opponent takes a turn. The game includes reaction mechanics that allow players to respond to opposing actions with cards such as Spells, Traps, and other reactive effects.
Card effects can interrupt actions, change targets, create new opportunities, or alter the course of a battle. Cards can also interact with one another to create layered combinations, giving players room to develop strategies that go beyond simply playing the strongest card available.
Players can draw up to two cards during a turn. Once per turn, a card may also be pitched to generate Mana and establish an elemental threshold associated with that card. Mana is used to play cards, while elemental thresholds help determine which abilities and effects a deck can access.
Build Without Being Locked to One Element
DuelForge features multiple elemental factions, each with its own characters, strategies, strengths, and card interactions.
Players are free to combine cards from different elements rather than being restricted to a single faction. This makes it possible to build focused elemental decks, experiment with unusual combinations, or create strategies around a particular Hero or card interaction.
Develop Your Heroes
Heroes are more than representations of the player. They can be developed over time and customized through their own skills, equipment, and progression systems.
In the roguelike dungeon mode, players will explore changing routes, encounter battles and events, collect cards, and make decisions that shape each run. Progress made through these dungeons can help expand a Hero's skill deck and create new possibilities for future deck builds.
Players will also be able to gather materials, equipment, and other resources through dungeons and additional game modes to strengthen their collection and prepare for more difficult challenges.
A Card Game With a Story
DuelForge is being created as more than a competitive card game. Its world and characters are supported by an ongoing story designed to provide a substantial PvE experience for players who prefer solo play, progression, exploration, and narrative content.
Competitive players will also be able to test their decks against others through ranked play and earn rewards based on their performance.
Whether a player is interested in the story, dungeon exploration, deck building, character progression, or competition, our goal is to provide meaningful ways to play and progress.
Currently in Development
DuelForge has been in development for several years and is now beginning to share more information publicly.
The game currently includes more than 1,000 cards and 70 Heroes, with additional cards, characters, game modes, and story content in development. These features remain subject to testing, revision, balancing, and expansion before release.
We do not intend to release DuelForge simply to meet a predetermined date. Our goal is to launch when the game reaches a level of quality that we believe respects the expectations of its players.
DuelForge is planned for release on iOS and Android, with support for multiple languages.
We look forward to sharing more of the world of DuelForge as development continues.
